Enlighten Whitening is an in-office tooth whitening procedure designed to whiten the colour of your teeth using combination of a carbamide peroxide gel at home and hydrogen peroxide gel during the treatment at Drury Lane Dental Care London.

The combination of these two procedures achieves maximum whitening results in the shortest possible time. The home gel is of a much higher concentration than you can buy at pharmacies or the one used in tanning salons, yet it is still completely safe to use and has been shown to cause no long term damage to healthy teeth in any way.

The treatment starts at home and lasts for two weeks with the trays being worn every night. The trays are custom designed by our lab and individually fitted to your teeth to ensure maximum comfort of use. The trays require a 15 minute visit to our practice in London so that we can take some impressions of your teeth.

The home stage gently prepares the tooth enamel so that the surgery whitening stage can go deeper into the enamel and achieve amazing results.

The surgery stage takes place on the fifteenth day and lasts for one hour. The stronger surgery gel completes the process and gives stunning results.

During the procedure the gel will be applied to the front surfaces of your teeth, which are then exposed to the light from the Enlighten Whitening lamp for a maximum of three 20 minute sessions. Throughout the procedure lip retractors are in place to protect the soft tissues from the gel. Damp gauze and lip balms are also used to protect from the gel and the light.

How long does it last for?

The affects of any whitening technique are not permanent and last up to a year depending on your diet and brushing frequency. Eating less staining foods and avoiding smoking and coffee will help prolong the results. Our patients usually have 2 tops ups, which can be carried out at home using your custom made trays and extra gel which costs £20 per unit.
