Dental Amalgam contains about 50% Mercury, a substance demonstrated to be more toxic than Lead, Cadmium or even Arsenic. Dental amalgams contract and expand with heat and as you eat, Mercury leakage occurs throughout the lifetime of the filling. The mercury leaves the amalgam in vapour form and this is absorbed at a rate of 80% through the lungs into the arterial blood.
